Listed below are the various areas of practice focused on by Burke Law Group. FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT EACH OF THE AREAS OF LAW, PLEASE "CLICK" ON THE HEADING AT THE BEGINNING OF THE DESCRIPTION.

Traditional Family Law Litigation
Family Law includes the full spectrum of law related to adult relationships and children: divorce, legal separation, live-in relationship, parenting plan, spousal and child support, adoption, third party custody, guariandship, prenuptial agreement, and other similar legal actions. Often, when there are conflicting positions, you need to utilize the Court system to resolve these issues. The experienced attorneys at BLG will give you the strong and thorough representation at Court needed to ensure the best possible results.

Collaborative Family Law
Collaborative Law (also called Collaborative Divorce or Collaborative Practice)is often referred to as the way to resolve disputes with respect, namely in a non-adversarial way. Often, the only thing that the parties agree about is that they do not want to go to court, with the stress, humiliation, accusations, public disclosure, and costs that can accompany court litigation. Collaborative Divorce focuses on the needs and interests of the parties, and permits each person to maintain responsibility and authority for their actions and decisions. The objective of Collaborative Divorce is to stay out of the courtroom, and come to a mutually agreeable resolution without the negatives that can accompany litigation through the courts. A win-win for both parties can often be achieved.

Collaborative Family Law departs from the typical adversarial process, and utilizes a totally different approach to family law matters. Both parties are representaed by collaboratively trained attorneys; they agree not to go to court, and instead rely on their attorneys to work with them and each other to arrive at a settlement that addresses the future underlying interests of each party. This is often a faster and less expensive process than traditional litigation represntation. Real Estate
Real estate law is a complex and highly dependent upon how specific facts fit into all aspects of common and statutory the law, some of which can be traced back to concepts several hundred years old. BLG concentrates on real estate litigation that involves topics such as buy-sell agreements, construction defects and warranties, title and boundary disputes, trespass, lawful use and enjoyment of property, and adverse possession.

Estate Planning
Estate Planning encompasses Wills, Trusts, community property issues, dependant custody issues, retirement planning, end-of-life directives, and other similar areas. Burke Law Group focuses its estate planning practice on small and medium sized estates, to provide estate planning advice without the large estate sticker price.

Landlord/Tenant
Washington is governed by the Washington Residential Landlord/Tenant Act. Rented spaces in mobile home parks are covered by the Mobile Home Landlord/Tenant Act. These Acts provide specific duties for the landlord and the tenant, with specific remedies if duties are not carried out by either or both parties to a lease agreement. Strict procedures must be followed when pursuing a court action to enforce the terms and conditions of a lease agreement, or to evict a tenant who has violated the terms of the lease.

Collections
Collection of money owed to you through the various remedies available at law. It is often frustrating to know that someone owes you money, but has elected to leave that debt unpaid. We can help you get what belongs to you.

Parking? No problem!

With your convenience in mind, we located our office so that we would be easy to find and with plenty of free parking. Our office is at 7307 N. Division St, Suite 203, in the US Bank building located a few blocks north of Francis Ave (one block south of Costco).

We recognize that we need to be there for our clients at their convenience, not ours. For that reason, we often will meet with clients in the evenings and weekends when it is not possible to fit a meeting into the regular 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (3:30 PM on Fridays) office hours. We realize that you may not be available during the middle of the day, and thus we need to be available when you can meet with us.

Flexible Payment Options

Depending upon the type of legal services to be performed, we may offer you the option to make payments over time. We also accept most major credit cards. We want to make it possible for those who need the advice and services of the attorney to be able to afford to retain an attorney.
